It is necessary to examine the hole diameters, spacing, and tolerances, which are frequently different after the bending procedure.

Given that a hole size less than the thickness of the sheet metal might result in more burrs and a larger Punch Load, the size and location of the hole are critical components of any sheet metal design when providing holes. Aside from that, the distance between holes should be at least twice the thickness of the material, simply to ensure sufficient structural strength during the bending or shaping operation. The minimal space between the edge and hole, if it is necessary to locate the hole at the edge of the sheet, should be at least twice as thick as the sheet itself. If the hole is located near the bend radius end line, the distance between the hole edge and the bend radius end line should be at least twice the thickness of the sheet.

When it comes to holding various components inside the enclosure such as PCBs, Connectors, Sensors, and so on, we can use Self Clinching Nuts, Standoffs, and studs and screw them in place, which will hold most of the components rigidly and are available in a variety of sizes to match the components’ size requirements.
